Really struggled in sessions to be heard though. Und of it!!!!I used to play banjo at home a lot without the resonator on and I really loved the sound I got. Our new Celt 4-string tenor banjo (19 Fret). The Celt Banjo 19 Fret Due to its performance and ease of play this is by far the most popular tenor banjo amongst our traditional Irish music students and intermediate customers. I cant really play tunes on the banjo anymore due to a muscular problem in my hand and more importantly, my wife hates the soiso I just have a cheapo chinese job in case I ever get the notion to annoy the neighbours!! The Celt Banjo by McNeela (19 Fret) with Premium Gig Bag. Had a Bacon And Day silver bell which was pretty raucous and a Leedy Senator which was much more restrained but sounded better IMO. They'd want to be pretty good for that!! Personally, the best tenor banjos I've played have been paramounts. Just looked up Eagle Music in UK who stock Omes, Jeez they're pretty expensive £2,500. Sounds like you made a good investment Jill!

I am so looking forward to gigging with this instrument." Basically it is ready to play as soon as you take it out of the case and I think it has definitely improved my playing. Another characteristic I enjoy about it is its immediate efficiency, there’s no wrestling with it like with older instruments, it stays in tune and every note is true even the low A, B and C on the G string which is such a plus.

With a a full 26.25' banjo scale length and a 17 fret S-scoped Ebony fingerboard, this open-back includes capo spikes at the 7th and 9th frets for all sorts of tunings. The ability of the instrument to sustain and lengthen the notes has given me a new zest for playing the banjo. This OME Banjos - Celtic 12' Open Back delivers a classic rolled brass tone, with the build quality and classy inlays from the Boulder, CO crew. I found I didn’t need to be quite so busy in order to highlight the essence of the tunes. It has the depth of tone I constantly look for, coupled with an extra sustain which is a particularly great quality for Irish banjo players as this allows our music to breathe. The instrument had a 12inch pot and I took to it immediately. I was given a hand crafted instruments to try. Tenor banjos are 4-string banjos with a shorter neck and played with a flatpick, most commonly used in traditional jazz or Irish music. They just don't come nicer!Ĭomes with factory hard shell case also in great shape and all original paperwork is in the case."Having played and believed whole heartedly in vintage banjos all my life it was with some trepidation that I tried these brand new OME banjos. The tone is wonderfully present and clear without being harsh allowing for both great old-time cluck and defined three-finger picking. The action is beautifully comfortable for any style and the easy playing is amplified by the pleasing sounds created by Ome's top quality "Chrome Silver Spun" tone ring. This 100% original instrument has factory installed spikes at the 7th and 9th fret, gold plated hardware throughout, hand engraved gold plated metal, custom polished lacquer finish, beautiful neck inlays, and most all the other top appointments available including the optional arm rest.

It is a unique one-off 50th anniversary prototype and it remains in immaculate near-mint condition right down to the shine on the gold plating. Built in 2009, this is one of the first Celtic Star open-back banjos that Ome ever made. We don't know how else to say it: This is a really, really special banjo! Not only does it have unique and beautiful appointments but it backs that up with the feel and tone of a great classic banjo.
